GB SWAG

When I was 13, I went to a new school. When I got to the new school I already new most of the people that were in my class. As the year went on and I started to know them better, they introduced me into 4H Shotgun and Archery. The first time that I went to Shotgun Practice, I thought that I shot pretty good, until the seniors started shooting. Then I realized that I didn't do all that good. When it was time to go to the qualification to go to state, I was the third one to shoot, and you had to hit 14/25. I ended up hitting 22/25, so i thought that I did really good and I was told that I did good by a lot of other people that I didn't know. When it was all over, we had to go meet under a shed of some sort. Once every body was over there, they announced the highest scoring team and it was not us, I don't think. After it was all over we practiced about 10 more times and started getting ready for state shooting, so they made the thrower were it would go a whole lot faster and farther. It was harder to hit the target at first, nut then we got used to it. About three or four weeks after qualification, we went to Rock Eagle for State Shotgun Shooting. The 4H Shotgun Team and The 4H Archery Team all had to ride on the bus together. When we got there, we put all of our things into the rooms that were provided for us. Then we went outside and roamed around trying to find something to do, like fishing, playing football, or just talking and hanging out, doing stupid and crazy things. Later on that night we went inside to our rooms and started getting ready to go to sleep for the night. When I was going into the bathroom, someone that was staying in the room with me slammed my finger in the door and it crushed my finger and I had to go to the hospital for like two or three hours while they were trying to figure out what they wanted to do to my finger so I would be able to shoot the next day. But they couldn't do nothing but wrap it up and send me on my way. I had the choice to either go stay with my mom or go back and stay with the team, and I decided to go back and stay with the team. When I got back everybody was standing outside waiting on me to see if I was okay. I finally went to sleep and was ready for the next day. When the morning came every body was wanting to help me do things but I did it all on my own. When we got to are spot where we were shooting I helped set up the tent and everything. When it was my turn to shoot, I went up there determined to do what I practiced to do. The bandage that was on my finger was protecting my finger but I took it off any way because it was messing me up even though it hurt like crap. I ended doing better than most of the team ending up hitting 21/25
